About PastReads

PastReads is a highlights manager for readers who want to keep what they learn from books and articles. It is aimed at people who read on Kindle, Kobo, Apple Books or the web and want their notes in one place rather than scattered across apps.

The service imports highlights from e-readers, book apps and web articles, and it can also capture text from a photo of a physical book page. Highlights can be edited, annotated, tagged, grouped into collections and marked as favorites, so a personal library of reading notes builds up over time.

What sets it apart is the review side. Daily recaps send selected highlights and notes back to your inbox to help you remember them, and exports to Notion, Markdown, PDF and CSV let you move your material into other tools. The site also describes a Claude integration through a PastReads MCP server that lets you ask questions answered from your own highlights.
