About GearDex

GearDex is a gear management app for photographers, videographers, studios and rental houses. It replaces the spreadsheet, scattered receipts and memory that many shooters rely on with a single library of every body, lens, light and accessory, each with its value, serial number, condition and location.

The app tracks portfolio value over time, links receipts and warranty cards to each item and sends alerts before coverage ends. It can export records for insurance. QR labels and a rig builder let users scan equipment on set, while the loan system handles reservations, due dates, reminders and returns. Shoot plans cover packing lists, call sheets and locations, and an AI agent called Iris answers plain-English questions such as which lenses fit a given body.

GearDex also reaches beyond inventory. Photographers can publish a portfolio site with client galleries, take inquiries and bookings, and keep a client list. Existing kits can be imported from a CSV. There is a free Starter plan, with paid plans for working photographers and studios, plus web, phone and Mac apps.
