Intertakt is an interval timer for people who train with HIIT, Tabata or round-based workouts and want to keep their phone out of the way. It runs with the screen locked, so the phone can stay face-down in a pocket while countdown beeps and a spoken voice call out each interval, halfway mark and round over whatever music is playing.

What sets it apart is how it handles audio and interruptions. Music, voice and beep volumes can be set independently, ducking can be switched off, and work, rest and round lengths can be set in whole seconds, including 15-second steps. If a call comes in or the app is switched, the session pauses and resumes from the exact point it stopped rather than resetting.

The Android app is available on Google Play with a free tier that includes unlimited workouts and no ads, and a one-time Premium purchase for custom plan limits, session history and plan import and export. No account is required. An iOS version is listed as planned.
