DeskRest
Break and posture reminders for Mac that respect your flow

About DeskRest
DeskRest is a macOS app for people who spend long hours at a computer and want to protect their eyes, posture and energy. It schedules short breaks of about 20 seconds and longer breaks of about 3 minutes, and both durations can be adjusted to fit a person's own work rhythm.
The app tries to stay out of the way. It detects video calls, meetings and focus modes and pauses reminders until the user is free, and it also recognizes idle time so reminders do not pile up after an absence. Reminders can appear as a countdown that follows the cursor, as standard notifications, or both. Posture flashes gently prompt users to check how they are sitting.
Other features include unlimited custom exercises, streak tracking, focus sessions, working hours schedules, and a Clock Out function that enforces an end to the workday. Users can also set custom backgrounds, audio cues and themes, and control timers with keyboard shortcuts or Apple Shortcuts. DeskRest requires macOS 14.2 or later.
