About AskDr

AskDr is a free set of lab calculators, checkers and unit converters that help people make sense of their blood test results. It is aimed at patients reading their own lab reports, students studying lab values, and anyone who needs to compare US conventional units with SI units.

The site covers a wide range of topics, including A1C and blood sugar, kidney function and eGFR, thyroid levels, hormones, iron and vitamins, blood counts, liver and electrolytes, cholesterol, and some body and pregnancy calculators. Each tool shows results in both US and SI units, so a report from any country can be interpreted.

AskDr says every calculator uses a published equation and every converter uses an exact molar-mass factor, with reference ranges drawn from guidelines. Calculations run in the browser and the entered values are not stored. The site is educational only and is not a substitute for medical advice.
