About Vibe Desktop Buddy
Vibe Desktop Buddy is a pre-assembled Bluetooth desk companion for developers who use Claude Code or Claude Cowork. It sits beside the keyboard and shows tool permission prompts, recent session messages and an animated ASCII or GIF pet, so approvals can be made with a physical button instead of switching windows.
The device runs on an M5StickS3 board built on an ESP32-S3 and arrives assembled and flashed, so no soldering or firmware setup is needed. Pressing A approves a prompt and B denies it, while the screen wakes when a request arrives. It pairs once with the Claude desktop app and reconnects automatically afterwards.
The firmware is the open-source claude-desktop-buddy project published by Anthropic, which the maker says is what every unit runs. The product is an independent project and is not made or endorsed by Anthropic. Pre-orders are listed at $110 plus shipping, with a full refund available before the unit ships.
