About Repowise

Repowise is a codebase intelligence tool for developers and engineering teams who use AI coding agents. It builds one index from source structure, dependencies, git history, tests, ownership and recorded engineering decisions, and keeps it current on every commit.

Coding agents query the index over MCP to get cited answers, callers and related decisions before they edit. On pull requests, a bot comment lists the callers a change reaches, files that usually change together with it and which tests to run first. Merged changes become Change Records with owners, tests and decisions, which policy checks can enforce in CI. Each file also gets health scores for defect risk and maintainability, with hotspots and suggested fixes.

The core is open source under AGPL-3.0 and can be run locally. A hosted version adds private repositories, a pull request bot and a shared dashboard, and an enterprise option can be self-hosted. A VS Code extension is also available, and public repositories are free to index.
