Refetch
Open-source, community-driven tech news aggregator
About Refetch
Refetch is a tech news and discussion site positioned as an open-source alternative to Hacker News. It gathers links to articles on programming, startups, AI, science and open-source software, and presents them in a ranked feed that readers can vote on and comment on.
The homepage offers Top, Show and New views, plus a Mines tab for a user's own activity. Each story lists its source domain, how long ago it was posted and its comment count. A sidebar shows trending topics such as AI, DevOps and OpenSource, along with a count of readers online and a short activity chart.
Refetch describes itself as a daily drop of curated tech news with an emphasis on signal over noise, transparency and community input. The site links to a page explaining its ranking algorithm and to its GitHub repository, and it lets members sign in and submit their own links. It suits developers and tech enthusiasts who want a community-run, inspectable place to follow industry news.
