Retiola
A browser extension for discussing any web page in context
About Retiola
Retiola is a browser extension that adds a discussion layer on top of the open web. Once installed, a Webzi button appears on supported HTTP(S) pages and opens a sidebar where readers can post comments, reply in threads, react and start polls tied to that exact URL. It is aimed at people who want to talk about what they read, especially where sites disable comments or filter reviews.
Beyond page threads, Retiola lets users select a passage and annotate it, and a Global Feed and trending view show which pages are being discussed. Trails turn open tabs into a shared, annotated route through a topic. Personal Search and Research Projects help organize saved notes, highlights and bookmarks, with Markdown export, and on-device AI offers summaries and translation inside the browser.
A reputation system called Silk rewards quality contributions with ranks and badges, and community moderation keeps discussions in check. It is available for Chrome, Firefox and Edge, with a free plan and paid Supporter and Premium tiers. An account is required.
