About PatioPlanner

PatioPlanner is a browser-based planning tool for people laying patios, driveways and garden paths with pavers. It is aimed at homeowners and DIY builders who want to know how many stones to buy before visiting the hardware store.

The planner lets you draw the real outline of an area as a polygon, then tiles that outline with a chosen pattern such as herringbone, basket weave or Opus Romano. It counts full stones, ready-made half stones and the pieces that must be cut on site, and an optimizer suggests small area or joint width changes that reduce the number of cuts. It also estimates base and bedding quantities, curbstones, mortar and jointing sand.

The main difference is that nothing is uploaded or stored on a server: no account is needed and projects stay in the browser. A laying guide on the phone highlights the next stone to place, and the results are presented as planning estimates to verify before purchase.
