About Eggcellent
Eggcellent is a recipe keeper for home cooks who find a dish on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X or a recipe website and want the ingredients and steps written down. Users paste a link, upload a photo of a recipe card, or type text, and the app builds a structured recipe in their cookbook.
For videos, it reads captions, narration, the description and the pinned comment, and keeps quantities and timings as stated. Saved recipes can be scaled from 1 to 20 servings with unit conversion, followed in a step-by-step cook mode with timers, and exported to PDF or Markdown. Ingredients can be sent to a grocery list that groups items by aisle and merges duplicates.
A Chrome extension saves a recipe in one click while browsing. The free plan allows 10 extractions a week, and the paid Pro plan offers unlimited extractions and a 7-day trial. The site notes that recipes are extracted by AI, so quantities should be checked before cooking.
