About SortaSeat

SortaSeat is a browser-based seating chart generator for couples planning a wedding. Users paste a guest list with one name per line, and the tool sorts it A–Z by last name, handling hyphenated names, prefixes and couples without retyping. No account or signup is needed.

Guests can be placed at round or banquet tables with set capacities, and unassigned guests are held in a labeled group so nobody drops off the chart. An auto-assign option spreads remaining guests evenly. The chart can be viewed alphabetically or by table, with a customizable title, subtitle and a choice of an ivory and gold palette or an ink-friendly black and white one.

For output, it produces a PDF with bleed marks and a safe zone in sizes from escort cards to large boards, including 18×24 and 24×36 inch posters. The site positions it as a simpler alternative to Canva, Etsy templates and wedding apps. Everything runs locally, so the guest list never leaves the browser.
