About Digital Footprint for Software Engineers

This book is for software engineers who ship good work but struggle to get it noticed, from students and entry-level developers through senior engineers, tech leads, engineering managers and startup founders. Written by engineer and GitHub Star Vinit Shahdeo, it walks through 38 chapters across 11 sections on building a digital presence through code, content and community.

The book covers practical areas such as GitHub profile work, LinkedIn strategy, blogging, talks and portfolio sites, along with a framework called the 3C Model. Its central argument is that visibility compounds: what recruiters and AI agents find when they search your name shapes how you are judged before any interview happens.

Rather than growth hacks or influencer tactics, the book aims for honest, long-term credibility, with real examples, checklists and frameworks meant to be applied from day one. Proceeds from each copy go to cancer care at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, and the book is sold in paperback, Kindle, ePub and audiobook formats.
