About Stitchgrid

Stitchgrid is a free image to crochet pattern converter for crafters who want a printable, colour-gridded chart based on a photo they own. It runs in the browser, so local conversion needs no account and no upload. Users pick the stitch width and yarn colour count, then correct any square by hand before saving a PNG sheet or a one-page PDF with a lettered legend.

The tool is aimed at crocheters making cushions, panels, wall hangings and similar projects who want a starting chart quickly. It maps each square to one stitch, marks every tenth stitch with heavier lines, and uses letters so the chart still reads in greyscale print.

An optional AI step can suggest a size and colours after a reduced copy of the picture is submitted with a project goal, and it requires Google sign-in with credits. The site is upfront that gauge is not converted and that palette colours are plain descriptions with no yarn brand mapping, so a swatch is still needed before trusting finished dimensions.
