About Sommo
Sommo is an independent wine app for serious drinkers, wine students and curious casual pourers. It runs on its own wine-tuned AI and is available on iPhone, iPad, Android, HarmonyOS and the web, with a free tier and an optional Premium subscription.
The app lets users scan labels, menus and shelves to identify a wine and log it to a cellar and journal. The cellar tracks drinking windows and suggests which bottle to open for a given meal. A Taste DNA radar builds a palate profile from journal entries, while tasting mode produces a review for each pour in a flight. Other features include menu scoring for restaurant wine lists, an interactive wine map, shared blind tastings for up to eight people, and printable cellar books.
Students get WSET levels 1 to 4 prep with flashcards, mock exams and AI-graded answers. The interface and AI-written content are available in ten languages. The free tier includes five label scans, the journal and the map, and Premium is priced monthly or yearly.
