About Aurora FileShare

Aurora FileShare is a web app for sending files directly from one browser to another. The sender picks files, receives a link and shares it. The recipient connects straight to the sender's browser, so nothing is uploaded to or stored on a server.

Transfers run over WebRTC and are encrypted with DTLS. Because the files never sit on a disk the service pays for, the site says it has no size limit. The sender can add an optional password and can require approval before each person connects, so a leaked link does not give anyone access on its own. Its server only passes along the small amount of connection data the two browsers need to find each other.

The site is upfront about the trade-off: both people must be online at the same time, and the sender has to keep the tab open until the transfer finishes. It suits people who want to move large files without an account or storage, rather than leave a file waiting for someone to collect later. The documentation and source are linked from the homepage.
